Longtree’s office sits at 23800 Eight Mile W in Southfield. From there, most Farmington Hills neighborhoods are 6 to 10 miles away by Eight Mile, Northwestern Highway or I-696, usually a 15 to 20 minute drive.

Farmington Hills started as Quakertown, settled in 1824 by Arthur Power and a group of Quaker families from New York. For more than a century it was farms and woodlots. The population climbed from 58,056 in 1980 to 82,111 by 2000, and the 2020 census counted 83,986 people.

You can still see what the original land looked like at Heritage Park, 211 acres with 4.5 miles of trails off Farmington Road.
Mature oaks need careful timing. Oak wilt spreads through fresh wounds in spring and early summer, so we keep oak pruning to the dormant season whenever we can.
