✅ Job Requirements – Tree Climber
We’re looking for skilled, safety-minded climbers who take pride in their craft and thrive in a team-driven environment. Whether you’re an experienced climber or growing into the role, this position is for professionals who want to build a long-term career and sharpen their skills with a company that values excellence.
Must-Haves:
- Climbing Experience: Proficient in rope-and-saddle climbing techniques and/or aerial lift work
- Chainsaw operation and maintenance experience
- Tree Work Knowledge: Familiarity with pruning standards (ANSI A300), rigging, removals, and hazard assessments
- Physical Fitness: Able to lift 50+ lbs, climb trees for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions
- Valid Driver’s License: Reliable transportation to and from the shop or job sites
- Safety Mindset: Always wears PPE, follows OSHA guidelines, and participates in safety briefings
- Team Player Mentality: Works well with ground crew and crew leads to complete jobs efficiently
- Professionalism: Polite and respectful to teammates, supervisors, and clients
Bonus Points (Preferred but not required):
- CDL Certification (Class B or higher)
- ISA Certified Arborist or working toward certification
- Experience with Crane Assisted Removals
- Advanced rigging or crane-assisted removal knowledge
- First Aid/CPR or other relevant safety training
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
🌟 What You’ll Be Doing
As a Tree Climber, you’ll be at the core of our production team—working aloft to skillfully remove, prune, or maintain trees. Your technical skills, safety awareness, and crew coordination will directly impact project success and customer satisfaction.
🌳 Daily Operations
- Climb and work in trees using rope-and-saddle and/or aerial lift equipment
- Perform tree pruning, removals, and cabling per work scope
- Support ground crew with rigging, cleanup, and safety spotting
- Attend daily crew briefings and align with project goals
- Maintain and prepare climbing equipment each day
🦺 Safety & Compliance
- Adhere strictly to OSHA standards and company safety policy
- Participate in daily Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and hazard assessments
- Use all required PPE (helmet, harness, gaffs, chainsaw chaps, etc.)
- Immediately report all injuries or unsafe conditions to Crew Lead
📈 Professional Development
- Maintain a minimum average score of 3/5 on skill competency evaluations
- Learn from supervisors and senior climbers to develop advanced techniques
- Attend staff meetings and optional technical trainings
- Represent Longtree with professionalism and pride on every jobsite
